Funeral service for Mary Ann Schwaiger, age 84 of Cullman, will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home, with Pastor Zack Freeman and Scotty Cofer officiating. Burial will follow at Cullman Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home.

Mary Ann passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Hanceville Nursing Home. She was born on Sunday, September 7, 1941, in Cullman, Alabama to Asa Martin Smith and Ruby Jewel Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Franklin D. Smith; husband, James Fred Schwaiger; sons, Edward Lawrence Smith, and Curtis Patrick Schwaiger; sister, Linda Jean Thompson; brothers, Pete Smith, Bob Smith, Jerry Smith, Bill Smith, and Elmer Smith.
Survivors include her sons, Richard Brian Smith (Stephanie), James Michael Schwaiger (Angela); grandchildren, Shaina Tiffany Cruz, Randy Smith, DeeDee Gordin (Jake); great-grandchildren, Zoey Cruz, Braxton Cruz; sister, Alice Jewel Linton (Morris).
