Nancy Elizabeth Baker, a cherished mother, grandmother, and steadfast believer in faith, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, at CRMC. Born on May 6, 1955, in Alabama, Nancy’s life was marked by her deep love for animals, particularly her beloved dog, Jack, and a profound loyalty to her family and extended circle of loved ones.

Nancy was known for her unwavering devotion to her family. She treasured the time spent visiting with family and friends, nurturing relationships that were founded on mutual respect, kindness, and genuine care. Her strong belief in God and her faith provided her solace and strength throughout her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her.

She is survived by her devoted son, Frankie Shane Smith, alongside his fiance, Sandra E. White. Nancy also leaves behind her beloved brothers, Tim Watwood, Wayne Watwood with his wife Emilia, and Allen Watwood ( Charles Carson.)Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Levi Allred, Zachary Smith, and Kyle Denton, and is further carried on by her great-grandchildren: Aubrey Smith, Benson Smith, Gema Ramsey, Noah Brock, Leelee Brock, and MaKenna Brock, who brought immense joy to her life. Nancy’s family tapestry is enriched by many nieces, nephews, other cherished relatives, and friends who held a special place in her heart.

Nancy was preceded in death by her loving parents, Robert Junior Watwood and Patsy Ruth Dover Watwood, her daughter Stephanie Marie Smith, and her siblings Billy Watwood, Gary Watwood, Lynn Watwood, and Patricia Watwood. Their memories remain a vital part of her story and her enduring spirit.

Nancy Elizabeth Baker lived a life full of love, faith, and loyalty. Her presence touched many, and her commitment to those she cared for was evident every day. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives she enriched.
