CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman Sports Cooperative is holding its first “Play it Forward” sports equipment drive on Saturday, June 27, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Cullman Wellness & Aquatic Center, 1636 Field of Miracles Drive SW.
The drive will collect new and gently used sports equipment and athletic supplies for the Cooperative’s first season in 2026-27. Organizers are looking for items like soccer balls, basketballs, frisbees, pickleball paddles, cones, pinnies, first-aid supplies, coolers, storage bins, pop-up goals, canopies and tumbling, cheer and dance gear.
The Cullman Sports Cooperative is a low-cost, parent-run sports and movement program for homeschoolers ages 6-19 in Cullman County. The group aims to make recreation more accessible and to help kids stay active, build teamwork, gain confidence and get involved in the community.
The Cooperative will offer rotating clinics with activities like soccer, basketball, lacrosse, track and field, community sports and PE-style games. Instead of focusing on high-level competition, the program encourages participation, wellness and skill-building in a friendly setting.
“Help support a sports cooperative focused on affordable recreational athletics, physical education, teamwork and community connection for local children,” said the organization.
The first season will run from August 2026 to June 2027, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2-4 pm. The annual cost is $60 per child.
