CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism will host the Summer Movies at Art Park series June 26 and July 24, from 8-10 p.m. Art Park is located at 205 Second St. SW.
Christy Turner with CPRST said the series was started to give families an affordable way to spend time together during the summer. “We’ve been hosting Summer Movies at Art Park for several years now, and it really started with a simple idea: giving families a free, fun way to spend time together during the summer. Sometimes it’s nice to bring a blanket or a chair, sit back, relax and enjoy an evening with family, friends and neighbors.”
The series starts on Friday, June 26, with “Tron: Ares” and continues on Friday, July 24, with “Hoppers.” Both movies will run from 8-10 p.m.
“When we’re choosing movies, we’re looking for something families can enjoy together,” Turner said. “We want parents, grandparents and kids to have a reason to come out, spend time together and enjoy a fun evening in the park.”
Guests can expect a relaxed atmosphere and are encouraged to arrive early to get a spot before the movie starts at dark, usually around 8 p.m. Attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets and snacks.
Turner said the event is more than just entertainment. It gives residents a chance to slow down and connect with each other during the busy summer season. “Events like Summer Movies at Art Park give families a chance to slow down, enjoy a fun evening and connect with their community. Sometimes the best memories come from the simplest moments, and we’re happy to provide a place where those moments can happen.”
