CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman Caring for Kids recently hosted its first Kickin’ it for the Kids event at the Cullman County Fairgrounds.

CASA Case Manager Alyson Miley said the main goal was simple: to remind the  community that it truly takes a village to care for and protect our most valuable residents — our children.

“I am proud to say that goal was not only met, but far exceeded,” Miley said. “So many incredible organizations, local heroes and dedicated volunteers came together to support this fundraiser, and we could not be more grateful for the outpouring of love and support. This event was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when a community unites with a shared purpose.”

Miley said it is the nonprofit’s sincere hope that this year’s success is only the beginning, and it will grow into an annual event the community looks forward to for years to come.

“I would like to personally thank the many people who helped make this day possible — our amazing co-workers, deputies, firefighters, paramedics, Justin Veal, Jesse Priest, the entire band, Dylan and Brylee, Kathy Gentry, our volunteers, fellow programs, Bouncer Inflatable Rentals, our food vendors and all of our generous sponsors,” Miley said. “Your support and hard work made this vision a reality. On a personal level, I would especially like to thank my two biggest supporters, Daniel Bingham and Janet Fallin. Your encouragement and belief in this mission meant more than words can express.”

Miley said she believes the first event was such a success because everyone involved understood and never lost sight of their “why.”

“We want to help ensure that every child has the opportunity to experience the happy, safe childhood they deserve,” she said. “When we come together for our children, we create hope, healing and a brighter future for all.”

Miley wanted to share a special thank-you to Kat Daddy’s BBQ & Grill Co. for providing local heroes with meals at the event.
