
CULLMAN, Ala. – The Link of Cullman County this week received $1 million in state funding to support educational and enrichment initiatives for local families and students.
Executive Director Melissa Betts said that, according to an official letter from the Alabama State Senate dated April 21, 2026, Sen. Garlan Gudger Jr., R-Cullman, alongside local delegation members Rep. Heath Allbright, R-Holly Pond; Rep. Tim Wadsworth, R-Arley; and Rep. Cindy Myrex, R-Cullman, secured the funding in support of The Link’s ongoing efforts to provide tutoring, parental education, financial education and summer enrichment camps for local students.
“This support represents an incredible opportunity to continue strengthening programs that directly serve local children and families,” Betts said. “We are deeply grateful for the support from Senator Gudger and our local delegation for investing in the future of our community. The funds will be administered through the Alabama State Department of Education.
