Resurfacing of Hwy. 278 near Jones Chapel to begin May 11

A $2.4 million resurfacing project on U.S. Highway 278 near Jones Chapel in Cullman County will begin next week. 

Weather permitting, contractor Grayson Carter and Son will start work Monday, May 11.  

The project will resurface nearly 8 miles of Highway 278 from the Winston County line to County Road 867. ALDOT anticipates completion in mid- to late summer.  

ALDOT advises drivers to expect single-lane closures with traffic directed by pilot vehicles or flaggers.
