Cullman County Schools holds Military Signing Day

CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman County Schools on Tuesday, May 5, held its 2026 Military Signing Day at the Cullman County Board of Education office, welcoming family, friends and military personnel, and recognizing students who are joining the armed forces.  

Superintendent Dr. Shane Barnette greeted attendees and prayed over the room.

“We do not take it lightly, the sacrifice you all have given and continue to give,” Barnette told the retired, active and aspiring military service members after they were asked to stand and be applauded.

Barnette said, though some signees were not present, this year’s was the largest group of signees the school system has had since beginning the annual Military Signing Day event.  

Military signees include:

Air National Guard

  • Megan Little – Hanceville High

U.S. Air Force

  • Jordan Fuller – Fairview High
  • Caden Parker – Good Hope High
  • Tristan Grund – Good Hope High
  • Michael Moyer – Vinemont High
  • Logan Dillard – West Point High

Army National Guard

  • Silas Reynolds – Holly Pond High
  • Dakota Wooten – Holly Pond High

U.S. Marines

  • Solomon Penn – Hanceville High
  • Caden Davis – Hanceville High
  • Brayden McKinney – Hanceville High
  • Parker Gutierrez – Fairview High

U.S. Navy

  • Braxton Stewart – Fairview High

Stewart will pursue a path in nuclear engineering. For his efforts, he was awarded a $70,000 enlistment bonus.
