CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Child Development Center (CDC) Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) will host its fourth annual Cullman Family Expo this Saturday, April 11, from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. at the Cullman County Agricultural Trade Center.

Expo Chair Jennifer Hodges said this is a free community event that is rain or shine and a celebration of family and community.

“Admission is completely free, and the event is open to all families and individuals in the Cullman area and beyond,” Hodges said. “Now in its fourth year, the Cullman Family Expo has grown into one of the region’s most beloved community gatherings — a lively, inclusive day filled with fun, food and meaningful connections. This year’s event promises to be the biggest yet, with something for every member of the family.”

Hodges said this year they will have real storm chasing vehicles, which will be on display on the arena floor inside the ag center.

“This will give families a rare, up-close look at the equipment used to track Alabama’s severe weather for James Spann and FOX Weather’s newscasts,” she said. “Kids will delight in meeting their favorite superheroes, princesses and beloved movie characters in costume, who will roam the event greeting children with hugs and high-fives throughout the day. Kids can also bounce and play on indoor inflatables, including a giant dual-lane slide and a bounce house designed for younger children.”

Hodges said outside, DJ Justin Pace will keep the energy high all day long with live music and karaoke, creating a festive atmosphere the whole family can enjoy.

“Attendees will find a wide variety of indoor and outdoor vendors and exhibitors, including arts and crafts vendors and many local nonprofit organizations offering valuable resources on food security, health care and specialty services for children with unique needs,” she said. “Many vendors and exhibitors will be giving out freebies and promotional items throughout the day. Several food trucks will be on-site serving up a diverse lineup of foods and sweet treats, including gumbo, fried seafood, authentic Mexican cuisine and street corn, hot dogs, corn dogs, nachos and fries, as well as ice cream, shaved ice, coffee and specialty drinks.”

Hodges said the Cullman Family Expo is the signature annual fundraiser of the CDC PTO, with all proceeds benefiting the Cullman County CDC — a school dedicated to serving children with unique needs.

“Past expos have raised thousands of dollars for the CDC, and this year’s event continues that tradition of community generosity,” Hodges said. “The fourth annual Cullman Family Expo is made possible through the generous support of community-minded businesses and organizations. Traditions Bank returns as Platinum Sponsor for the second year. They are joined by Imagine ABA Therapy, DJ/JP, Encore Rehabilitation, Premier Bank of the South, S’more Smiles Pediatric Dentistry, Alabama Tornado Tracker and the United Way of Cullman County.”
