Funeral Service for Melissa June Shabel, age 66 of Cullman, will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Delbert Freeman officiating; burial at Flint Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home.

Mrs. Shabel passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at her residence. She was born April 14, 1959, to James C. Dyer and Doris Mozelle Ogetree.
She was preceded in death by her parents & her husband, Thomas “Tommy” Shabel.
Survivors include her sons, Wesley W. Shabel & Sawyer Shabel (Emilee); grandson, Rory Shabel; brother, Brad Dyer (Kristy); sisters, Melinda Jean Shabel & Beth Parker (Rod); nieces and nephews, Bobby, John, Sam (Jennifer) Nick, Kendra (Aaron) & Kenton (Anna); and a host of great nieces, nephews, family & friends.
