DECATUR, Ala. – The Fairview Aggies traveled to Priceville for a ranked, region battle with the Bulldogs Friday night, and they returned home with the Region 7 crown. Fairview built a 14-3 lead in the first half and kept the Bulldogs in check in the second half to secure a 28-9 road win and the region title.

A Priceville punt pinned the Aggies down inside their own 5-yard line midway through the first quarter but a big run from Jake Harper got them out near the 30. Kolt Redding ran one up the middle and moved the ball across midfield a few plays later, and Fairview continued to methodically work its way down the field. On the first play of the second quarter, Harper took a handoff into the end zone from 26 yards out to put the Aggies in front 7-0.

Fairview added to the lead later in the second quarter when Redding hit Jace Stevens through an air for a 10-yard touchdown, stretching the lead to 14-0 with just over three minutes to play in the second quarter. Priceville was able to put together a nice drive and tacked on a field goal just before halftime to trim the Aggie lead to 14-3 at the break.

The Bulldogs started the second half strong, driving down the field and scoring on a 6-yard touchdown pass to cut the lead to 14-9. The Aggies were able to answer. A few plays into the ensuing possession, Redding dumped one off to Harper on a screen pass and he took it 64 yards down the sideline for a Fairview touchdown, putting the Aggies ahead 21-9 with five minutes remaining in the third quarter.

Fairview added to its lead early in the fourth quarter. Harper hit Jace Stevens for a big gain down the middle of the field and two plays later, Harper scored from 26 yards out to make it a 28-9 game with eight minutes to play. Conner Scott picked off a Priceville in the end zone on the ensuing possession to wrap up a big, 28-9 win for the Aggies.

Fairview (7-0) will be back on the road next week to take on Sardis.
