ARLEY, Ala. – Meek opened the 2025 season with a Winston County battle against Lynn at Tiger Stadium Friday night and the Tigers are off to a 1-0 start. Meek led 6-0 at the halftime break but found the end zone two more times in the second half to stay ahead and secure a 20-6 win over the Bears.

After a scoreless first quarter, Tigers quarterback Evan McCay found Brady Baxter through the air for a touchdown to take a 6-0 lead midway through the second quarter. That score held until the start of the third quarter when the Bears returned the second half’s opening kickoff for a touchdown and tied the game at 6. Meek responded later in the third when Baxter picked off a Lynn pass and raced 60 yards the other way for a touchdown to put the Tigers back in front 14-6.

With just under two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, McCay ran one into the end zone from 12 yards out to put the game out of reach and wrap up a 20-6, season-opening win for Meek.

The Tigers (1-0) will look to add to the win column next week when they travel to take on Winston County.
