Funeral services for Eva Jean Herchenhahn, 82, of Hanceville will be 2 p.m., Saturday, June 28th at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Center Hill cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Hanceville Funeral Home.
Mrs. Herchenhahn was born May 5, 1943, in Cullman, Alabama, to the late Hubert & Issey Whately. She passed away June 25, 2025, in Birmingham, Alabama.
Mrs. Herchenhahn is survived by her husband, Jerry Thomas Herchenhahn; children, Jerry Timothy Herchenhahn (Cherie), Tony Francis Herchenhahn, Tommy Allen Herchenhahn, Terry Thomas Herchenhahn (Keisha); grandchildren, Anthony Noah Herchenhahn, Tyler Ian Herchenhahn, Trey Lee Herchenhahn, Luke Austin Herchenhahn, James Patrick Faucheux III; great grandson, Brayden James Faucheux; siblings, Myrtle Dean Whatley Draper, Eveion Whatley, Leo Ray Whatley, Deliween Whatley Morehouse, Faye Whatley Calvert, Donald Whatley, Beatrice Whatley; brothers-in-law, Mark Herchenhahn (Sara), Teddy Herchenhahn (Rita); sisters-in-law, Dianne Nugent (John), Elizebeth Paddok; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends, and church family.
Mrs. Herchenhahn was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert & Issey Whatley; brothers, LD Whatley, Willie “Jabo” Whatley, Bobby Joe Whatley, Derkey George “Bill” Whatley; and her sister, Laurene Whatley Creech.
Serving as pallbearers will be Noah Herchenhahn, Austin Herchenhahn, Tyler Herchenhahn, Del Draper, Jeremy Calvert, and Josh Calvert.
