A memorial service for Peggy Loudermilk, 82, of Hanceville will be Wednesday June 11 at Hopewell Cemetery.
Mrs. Loudermilk was born May 31, 1943, in Cullman, Alabama. She passed away June 5, 2025, in Hanceville, Alabama peacefully surrounded by loved ones.
Peggy dedicated her life to caring for others, serving as a devoted nurse at Carraway Hospital for 35 years and later at Brookwood Hospital for an additional 5 years. Her compassion and commitment to her patients left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Beyond her professional life, Peggy had a zest for adventure and a love for the open road. She and her beloved husband, Robert Loudermilk, shared many cherished memories traveling together in their motor home, exploring the country and enjoying each other’s company.
Peggy is survived by her loving husband, Robert Loudermilk; her seven wonderful dogs, who brought her immense joy; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ottis Pitts and Addie Hamilton Pitts, as well as her brothers, Harold Pitts and Marlin Pitts.
Peggy’s warmth, strength, and sense of humor will be fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
