VINEMONT, Ala. – The Vinemont Town Council convened its monthly meeting on May 27 with all council members in attendance. Key highlights of the meeting included approving support for the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office Rodeo, discussing the potential purchase of a water bottle refill station at the South Vinemont Trail and Art Park, approving the purchase of a new printer/copier and authorizing a local real estate agent to sponsor and host a series of community movie nights.
The council voted to contribute $1,000 to the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office Rodeo, continuing its annual support.
Discussion during the work session focused heavily on a proposed water bottle refill station at the South Vinemont Trail behind the community center While no final decision was made, the council approved moving forward with a refill station, pending further consultation with local professionals regarding upkeep and maintenance requirements.
The council also approved the purchase of a new printer/copier to support administrative operations.
Additionally, council members approved a request from a local real estate agent and mortgage lender to sponsor and host two community movie nights at the South Vinemont Trail. The planned screenings will feature “Moana 2” and “Shrek,” with tentative dates set for June 20 and July 18. The community movie nights will be free to the public. The council meeting ended with a discussion of upcoming community events. Those events include:
- Senior Citizens’ Day will be held at the Vinemont Community Center on June 16 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., and lunch will be provided
- Municipal Election qualifying will open June 10 and end June 24
The next meeting of the Vinemont Town Council will be on Tuesday, June 10, at Vinemont Town Hall. The work session will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the meeting to follow at 6.
