BREMEN, Ala. – The second annual Bartlett Baseball Camp will return on Wednesday, June 18, at the Cold Springs High School baseball field. Organized by Brodee Bartlett, a University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) baseball player and Cold Springs High alumni, the camp focuses on refining the fundamentals of fielding, hitting and pitching while being guided by players at the collegiate level.

Attendees will be coached by a lineup of current college players, including Bartlett, Eli Folds (pitcher at LaGrange College), Hugh Windle (infield at UAH), Cole Loftis (pitcher at UAH) and Caleb Mahan (UAH). Players will be guided through specific drills designed to improve glove work, footwork, hitting mechanics, hand-eye coordination and pitching mechanics.

With a successful inaugural camp under his belt, Bartlett said the decision to host year two was an easy one. “Last year was amazing. Seeing all these young athletes get better in a short time and learning things that will last a lifetime was the best thing for me and is the reason I wanted to do it again,” Bartlett shared. “I just love sharing the knowledge I have gained over the years so that the next generation of athletes will have more success than us.”

He added, “Learning small things at a young age is what changes the game. I can’t wait to get this year’s camp going.”

Sign-ups will begin at the gate at 8:15 a.m. on the day of the camp. Pre-registration is also available online or by contacting Bartlett directly. Position player registration is $85, while pitchers-only can register for $75. All campers are asked to bring baseball pants, their equipment and “a great attitude.”

The camp will provide lunch — hot dogs, chips and water — along with additional water and Gatorade throughout the day. Fans will also be on-site to help athletes stay cool during breaks.

“This year’s camp I hope to get kids better than when they walked in. As long as the kids can learn two or three things that they didn’t know about the game before they came, then I’ve done my job,” Bartlett stated. “I can’t wait to see all these younger athletes get after it!”
