Born on September 16, 1954 in Cincinnati, OH, Steven Byrd was a humble servant of God and devoted craftsman, leaving behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and quiet dedication. He lived a simple life, grounded in purpose and rich in the things that mattered most. He found great joy in traveling to retirement homes and nursing facilities, where he shared the gospel and offered spiritual comfort to many. His faith and gentle spirit touched countless lives and brought hope to those who needed it most.
A skilled machinist and lathe operator, Steven took pride in his work, combining precision with a deep respect for his trade. When he wasn’t working or ministering, he found peace in nurturing plants and reading books, both of which reflected his patient and thoughtful nature. Steven lived not for recognition, but for purpose—serving others, growing in faith, and doing what he loved. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him and remembered for the quiet strength and warmth he brought into the world.
Survivors include his children, Jeff Byrd, Beatrice Hagemore (Kacee) and Traci Geno (Nathan); granddaughter, Hannah Campbell (Lincoln); and a host of many cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Mr. Byrd was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice Elam Byrd; father, Johnnie Raymond Byrd; and stepmother, Margaret Byrd.
Hanceville Funeral Home is honored to serve the Byrd Family.
