CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman County Schools Superintendent Dr. Shane Barnette is recommending Kyle Chamblee as the next Cullman County Schools transportation director.
Chamblee is currently the principal of Vinemont Middle School. He will replace Jeff Harper, who recently announced his retirement.
Chamblee will oversee day-to-day operations of the entire fleet of more than 150 school buses as well as other system vehicles. Cullman County Schools transports more than half of the students in its system to and from school, totaling 4,300 miles every school day.
Chamblee has 21 years of educational experience with Cullman County Schools. Prior to serving at Vinemont, he held administration roles at Hanceville and West Point.
“I want to thank everyone in the Vinemont community for their support over the past four years,” said Chamblee. “I want to thank Dr. Barnette and the board for the trust they are placing in me. I’m excited for the opportunity to serve the entire district in this new role. Mr. Harper has done a great job as transportation director and I hope to be able to continue what he has set in place.”
Pending board approval, Chamblee will assume his new role effective July 1, 2025.
