CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman High School Theatre performed “Tuck Everlasting” from April 22-26, with students pouring their hearts into each performance – acting, singing, dancing or working behind the scenes. Seniors took the time to reflect on their experience in the theater program, looking back fondly on the memories and friendships.
For senior Jay Lee, who played the Man in the Yellow Suit, “Tuck Everlasting” held personal significance.
“This is my first big role, my first singing role,” said Lee. “It’s been really special for me.” Lee, who has been part of CHS Theatre for years, described the experience as something he looks forward to every day. “It’s just so fun to be with all these people who share the same passion. The atmosphere is electric — it really is something special.”
Isabella Jacobs, a senior member of the Tree Gap Ensemble, shared similar feelings.
“Honestly, it’s just great,” she said. “You form a family over the years.” As Jacobs prepares to graduate, she said leaving the program feels like leaving a part of a larger family — a community she will always be a part of. “It means I’m leaving my family, and I’m going to cry,” she admitted.
Jacobs didn’t hesitate to share her favorite memories of her time in the department, saying, “Probably all the laughs throughout rehearsals. Great times, great friends — it’s just all big laughs.”
