Obituary: Terry Wayne Fields

Funeral services for Terry Wayne Fields, 66, of Colony will be 12 p.m. Saturday May 3rd at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow the service at Colony Community Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday May 2nd from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Hanceville Funeral Home. 

Terry Wayne Fields was born March 19, 1959, in Jasper, Alabama, to the late Cleophus Sr. and Ophelia Fields, and he gained his wings April 26,2025. 

Terry attended Cullman County School System. On May 26, 1978, he married Renetta Hawkins.  He was a member of the Community Pentecostal Church and later joined Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.  He worked as a construction worker, and later as a laborer at Cullman Casting.  He loved to play chess and cards, he loved western movies and daytime stories, he loved to sing and listen to music.  One of his favorite quotes was “If you see me in the woods fighting a bear, don’t help me, help the bear”. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleophus Sr. and Ophelia Fields; wife, Renetta Fields; siblings, Sister Geri Brank (Henry); brothers, Howard Fields (Rose Mary), Maylon Jerome Fields; son, Frederick Hawkins; grandparents, Eddie and Mural Vaughn, and Louis and Hattie Fields and five siblings that were still birth. 

He leaves to cherish four daughters, Tarita Fields, Terri Fields (Deuntae), Samantha Hogeland (Paul), Madison Fields; seven grandkids, Tamia, Makiah, Malachi, Manijah, Frank Jr., Malaijah, and London; one sister Natalie Demoss; two brothers, Rev. Odis Minnitt (JoAnn), and Rev. James Fields Jr. (Yvette); a devoted, loving, and caring sister-in-law, Willie Rose Fields; Pastor Ivy (Robert), Lucky and Nan Vaughn (Toby), and brother-in-law, Harry McDonald (Gwen); his lifetime partner Belinda Thomas; and a host of nieces and nephews.
