EAST BERRY, Ala. – Addison made the trip to Berry for a round one matchup against the Wildcats Friday night and the Bulldogs were able to put 38 points on the board, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with Berry and Addison’s season came to an end with a 54-38 loss.

The Wildcats scored from 30 yards out on a hook and ladder play to take an 8-0 lead early in the first quarter. A Berry touchdown run stretched the lead to 16-0 early in the second quarter but Addison responded with a 5-yard touchdown run from Seth Hammack to trim the lead to 16-8. The Wildcats hit back with 14 unanswered points to take a 30-8 lead into the locker room at halftime.

A 12-yard touchdown run by Kaden Dyson made it a 30-16 game with 4:30 to play in the third quarter but another Berry touchdown stretched the lead to 38-16 going into the fourth quarter.

Hammack’s second touchdown run of the night made it 38-24 but the Wildcats responded once again on the ensuing possession, scoring to pull ahead 46-24. Another touchdown run from Dyson cut Berry’s lead to 46-30 later in the fourth and in the final minute of the game, Wyatt Anderson punched one into the end zone to bring the final score to 54-38 in favor of the Wildcats.
