WINFIELD, Ala. – After hosting Midfield last week, the Hanceville Bulldogs were back on the road Friday night for a regional matchup at Winfield. Unfortunately for Bulldog fans in the stadium, the Pirates jumped out to a big lead early and never allowed Hanceville to threaten it, pulling away to defeat the Bulldogs 57-6.
Winfield built up a 22-0 lead in the first quarter and was able to extend that lead to 43-0 by the halftime break. The Pirates continued adding to their lead and went into the final frame leading Hanceville 50-0.
The Bulldogs were able to find the end zone in the fourth quarter and get some points on the board, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the early Winfield lead and Hanceville fell to the Pirates on the road 57-6.
The Bulldogs will be back at Ray Talley Stadium next week to host a region game against Phil Campbell.
