West Point 3 – Cold Springs 0 (25-10, 25-12, 25-8)

The Warriors put together a dominant performance against Cold Springs, building a 14-4 lead early in the first set and outscoring the Eagles 11-6 the rest of the way to take a 25-10 win.

The second set felt a lot like the first. After jumping out to a 10-4 lead, West Point extended it to 20-8 as the set went on before eventually winning it 25-12 and taking a 2-0 lead in the match.

The Warriors pulled ahead 16-6 midway through the third set and continued adding to their lead on the way to a 25-8 win and a sweep of the Eagles.

West Point will face Fairview in the semifinals Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Good Hope 3 – Holly Pond 0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-23)

The defending champion Raiders hit the floor to take on Holly Pond in the third and final match of the night and the score was knotted at 5 early in the opening set. Good Hope was able to move in front 11-7 as the set went on and eventually stretched its lead to 20-13. The Raiders finished the set strong, winning it 25-15 and taking a 1-0 lead in the match.

The Broncos led the way 9-6 early in the second set but Good Hope was able to move back out in front 13-10. The Raiders led just 17-16 later in the set but a 4-1 scoring run stretched the lead to 21-17. Good Hope was able to hold off the Broncos and take a 2-0 lead with a 25-20 win in the second set.

The third set was an impressive one for the Raiders. Holly Pond maintained a 4–5-point lead through the midway point of the set and lead 19-10 at one point but Good Hope rallied, putting pressure on the Broncos and cutting the lead to 23-20. The Raiders completed the comeback and took the third set 25-20 to sweep Holly Pond and advance to the semifinals.

Good Hope will play Vinemont in the semifinals Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Holly Pond 2 – Hanceville 0 (25-12, 25-14) Game One (JV)

Holly Pond jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the first set against Hanceville, but the Lady Bulldogs trimmed it to 4-3. The Lady Broncos responded by scoring the next six points to take a 10-3 lead and would stretch their lead to 15-5. Holly Pond continued to increase their lead throughout the first set, as they pushed their lead to 21-8 and would go on to take the first set, 25-12.

That momentum carried over into the second set, as the Lady Broncos scored the first eight points to take an 8-0 lead and held an 11-3 lead later in the set. Hanceville went on a run to get back in the game and would cut it to 14-9. The Lady Bulldogs would make it a 18-12 game later in the set. Holly Pond took over after that, though, going on a 7-2 run to finish off their sweep of Hanceville, 25-12, 25-14, as they moved on to the next round.

Holly Pond will take on Good Hope Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Vinemont 2 – Fairview 0 (25-11, 25-17) Game Two (JV)

Vinemont got off to a great start in the first set against Fairview, as they jumped out to a 9-3 lead and would later stretch their lead to 16-5. The lead only grew wider for the Lady Eagles, as they pushed their lead to 24-8, and they would go on to take the first set over the Lady Aggies, 25-11.

It was close for most of the second set. Fairview held a slim 4-3 lead, but Vinemont came back to take a 6-5 lead. There would be four ties, as one team didn’t let the other one get out to a big lead. It was tied up at nine, then the Lady Eagles scored the next four points to take a 13-9 lead. The Lady Aggies cut it to 16-14 and looked to send things to a third set, but Vinemont didn’t allow that to happen, as they went on a huge 6-0 run to stretch their lead to 22-14. The Lady Eagles ended up finishing off their sweep of Fairview, 25-11, 25-17 and will move on to the next round.

Vinemont will face off West Point Tuesday at 5 p.m.
