CLEVELAND, Ala. – The Cold Springs Eagles were back on the road for a region matchup at Cleveland Friday night and after more than two hours of lighting delays, the Eagles dominated the Panthers once they hit the field. Cold Springs jumped out to a 30-0 lead in the first half and cruised past Cleveland in the second half on its way to a 46-0 region win.

Matt Williams got the Eagles’ opening drive started with a 30-yard run and finished things off in the end zone a few plays later to put Cold Springs in front 8-0. Williams’ second touchdown of the night came later in the first quarter and gave the Eagles a 16-0 lead going into the second.

Williams broke free for a 40-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter to stretch the lead to 22-0. His fourth rushing touchdown of the first half came just before the end of the second quarter and gave Cold Springs a commanding, 30-0 lead at the halftime break.

After a scoreless third quarter, Cooper Johnson punched one into the end zone to make it a 38-0 game early in the fourth. The Eagles put the finishing touches on the win later in the fourth when Tidus Light ran one into the end zone to cap a dominant, 46-0 performance from Cold Springs.

The Eagles improve to 3-1 with the win and they’ll be back home next week to take on Winston County.
