CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman County People Against a Littered State (PALS) is currently accepting nominations for Beautification Awards. These awards are a physical recognition for local businesses, churches, practices and organizations that add to the beauty of the area with exceptional landscaping or design. Currently, the recognizable green signs can be found at the Cullman County Courthouse, Carlton’s Italian Restaurant and The Cabin at Clarkson Covered Bridge.

“If you are especially proud of your own landscaping design, don’t hesitate to nominate your own business for consideration,” said Cullman County PALS Chairperson Cherrie Haney.

The PALS Committee appoints a group of local, qualified judges to review and score nominated businesses, schools, churches and government facilities. The judges ultimately bestow the Beautification Awards on the most appealing lawns and spaces. Any individual who would like to recognize a property owner or manager’s beautification efforts may make a nomination.

Haney implored the community for help, saying, “Please take a moment to nominate your business or a business you believe is worthy of consideration.”

All nominations must be received by Cullman County PALS no later than 3:30 p.m. on Friday, May 24. Award recipients will be named and have their associated landscaped area featured locally and on the PALS Facebook page. Images of the chosen properties will be sent to Alabama PALS to be featured on its website and social media platforms statewide.

Send nomination forms to Cullman County PALS at P.O. Box 1935, Cullman, AL 35056.
