HANCEVILLE, Ala. — Wallace State Community College announces it will hold Admission Workshops on Saturday, April 6, and Saturday, May 18, for anyone seeking assistance with filling out their application for admission to the college. The workshops will be held from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m., at Lion Central in the Bailey Center.

“These workshops will provide anyone seeking admission to the college one-on-one assistance with filling out their application,” said Jennifer Twitty, director of admissions and records and the college registrar. “If someone does not have access to a computer or internet service to fill the application out at home or if they just need that personal assistance, we will have staff on hand to assist.”

Staff are always available during normal business hours for Lion Central, but providing these special workshops on a Saturday will provide potential students another option if they are not available to visit campus during those hours, Twitty said.

Those attending the Admission Workshops should be able to receive their student number that day, will receive guidance on navigating myWallaceState, and learn the next steps in the process to begin taking classes. They will learn how to meet with a success advisor from the Center for Student Success who can help them register for classes and who to contact for financial aid.

As an open-access institution, anyone with a high school diploma or GED can apply to Wallace State for admission. There is no fee to apply.

Priority registration for the summer and fall semesters began April 1, with registration open to all on April 4. Summer classes are scheduled to begin on May 22 and fall classes on Aug. 19. Classes are offered in the traditional on-campus format, as well as hybrid and online options. Regular and mini terms are offered during both the summer and fall semesters.
