VINEMONT, Ala. – Vinemont High School will host a STEAM Job Fair in the school’s gymnasium on March 20, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The event, aimed at connecting students with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) industries in Cullman County, is scheduled to open its doors to a future of possibilities for students curious about their future professional careers.
Students attending the fair can expect an interactive experience, with the chance to engage directly with industry professionals from diverse STEAM fields such as AI, farming, engineering, forensics, pharmacy, drafting, robotics and nursing. This initiative focuses on STEAM-related industries, highlighting the significant growth and demand in these industries and offering students an insightful glimpse into a multitude of potential careers.
Shannon Bridges, a dedicated science teacher at Vinemont and chief science officer advisor, shared her excitement about the event, saying, “I am so excited to share many job opportunities with our students. I want them to be able to see trade careers and careers that require an education. A lot of students are not familiar with all the locally available careers.”
The goal of the STEAM Job Fair is to illuminate the variety of careers within STEAM, allowing students to discover and consider paths they might not have previously thought possible. By the end of the fair, students will have gained valuable insights into career requirements, the day-to-day realities of various professions and the exciting opportunities that lie within their community.
