Funeral service for James Arnold George, age 87, of Eva, will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home with John Garrison officiating; burial at Etha Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. George was a simple man who worked hard all this life. He loved his family and friends. He went to Lacon Trade Day on the weekends for many years. He made and sold wire cages and was known by many as the “cage man”.

In recent years he was unable to carry on his trade but is remembered by the many people he met at Lacon. He was greatly loved by his family and all who knew him. he will be greatly missed.

Mr. George passed away on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2024, at Cullman Regional. He was born, April 14, 1936, to Ethan George and Maggie George.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty George; parents; brothers, Levi George and Louie George.

Survivors include his son, Robert Chapman; sister, Linda George; sister-in-law, Jessie George; grandchildren, James Robert Chapman and Keri Williams; several great grandchildren and numerous beloved nieces, and nephews.
