NWS: Winter Storm Warning for Cullman County until 6 a.m. Tuesday

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – A Winter Storm Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service office in Huntsville for Cullman County. It began at 6 p.m. Sunday and is set to expire on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 6 a.m.

Heavy mixed precipitation is expected, with total snow accumulations of up to 1 inch and ice accumulations of up to 0.15 inches.

Counties affected are Morgan, Marshall, DeKalb and Cullman.

The NWS advised motorists to plan on slippery road conditions. Hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute, so prepare accordingly.

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency, along with blankets.
