VINEMONT, Ala. – At its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 12, the Vinemont Town Council voted unanimously to surplus its current vehicle – a 2010 Dodge Charger – and purchase a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox.

During its work session, the council discussed purchasing new pickleball sets for the senior citizen program. Members also talked about an issue residents have reported with the free food pantry located near town hall. Residents have reported individuals “taking advantage of” the pantry by taking everything inside and leaving nothing from anyone else. The council discussed purchasing a security camera to dissuade this behavior.

Neither issue has been voted on. Both will be moved to a future meeting agenda.

The next Vinemont Town Council meeting will be held at Vinemont Town Hall on Jan. 9, 2024. The work session will begin at 4 p.m., with the meeting immediately following.
