CULLMAN, Ala. – Following a move from its former location on Alabama Highway 157 to a larger building on U.S. Highway 278 West, Santa’s Workshop is open and ready for visitors.

“The joy, excitement, energy and love we feel from each of the families that come through our door is nothing short of true miracles,” said David Massengale, one of Santa’s helpers.

After the smashing success of the Workshop’s 2022 season, Massengale said, he knew the Workshop had the capacity to reach more local families and children during the holidays; he just needed more space. The quest for a building large enough to fully execute the vision for Santa’s Workshop came to an end when he found an old storefront with perfect parking at 2285 U.S. Highway 278.

As a free admission venue aimed at local families and children, cookies and complimentary hot chocolate are available during all of the Workshop’s operating hours. Children can paint ornaments to take home and hang on their own Christmas tree or color festively themed coloring pages to stick on the fridge; parents and caregivers are encouraged to take as many photos as their hearts desire with any of the multiple photo backdrops, inflatables and even Santa with his reindeer. Visitors of Santa’s Workshop are also invited to drop their names into one of the raffles for prizes, toys and gifts.

Getting families and loved ones to spend time together has always been the goal of Santa’s Workshop. By creating a free Christmas event, the Helpers at Santa’s Workshop broke possible financial barriers for families that may not otherwise be able to afford a Christmas outing. Entire families and friend groups are often included in each set of photos, proof that a very merry time was had by all. Helpers and elves blend into the scenery perfectly, as they infuse the magic and wonder of the North Pole into the building; the joy they create for visitors at the Workshop is palpable.

“The look in a child’s eye is always amazing, but it’s the look in the parent’s eyes when they see their child smile,” said Massengale. “The magic of Christmas should be about family and loved ones. Sharing a laugh, a hug and time together can mean more than any gift.”

Santa’s Workshop is located at 2285 U.S. Highway 278 West and will be open for visitors until Dec. 16. Hours of operation for the workshop are Monday through Friday from 5-7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
