PREP FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS: Meek drops round 1 matchup at South Lamar 32-14

MILLPORT, Ala. – The Tigers of Meek traveled to Millport to face South Lamar Friday night and after taking an early lead, the Stallions rallied from behind to defeat the Tigers 32-14 and advance to round two.

The first score of the game came on a Tigers touchdown pass from Evan McCay to Jarrett Benson and Cameron Deaver punched in the two-point conversion to make it an 8-0 game. An 8-yard touchdown run by Justin Freeman extended Meek’s lead to 14-0 but South Lamar was able to put 19 points on the board in the final six minutes of the first half to pull ahead 19-14 going into the locker room at the break.

The Stallions tacked on another touchdown in the third to build their lead up to 25-14 and in the final frame, South Lamar found the end zone one more time to complete the comeback and wrap up a 32-14 win over the Tigers.
