Cullman High School Theatre wins big locally, going to state competition

CULLMAN, Ala. — Cullman High School Theatre won Best in Show last weekend, earning 41 Superior medals for its performance of “Leaving Iowa” at the District 3 Trumbauer Festival. The group will travel to Florence to represent the district at the state festival at the University of North Alabama in December.  

“Just saying – It’s great to be a Cullman Theatre Bearcat tonight,” remarked Director Wayne Cook in a social media post. 

Awards 

  • Best Performer – Jameson Inscho 
  • Best Supporting Performer – Bailey Henderson 
  • All Star Cast – Ava Fales, Colter Drake, Jay Lee, Alex Renteria and Graham Waldrop 
  • Best Ensemble 
  • Best Tech 

These students received Superior medals and will compete in individual events at the State festival: 

Acting – Issac Heinze, Cheyenne Marchman, Julian Skinner, Alex Renteria, Jay Lee, Brady Scott, Emily Twilley, Ava Fales, Madison Barnett, Tylar Hanna, Noah Reggie Warren  

Musical Theatre – Reid Bradberry, Graham Waldrop, Ava Fales, Aubrey Duncan, Bailee Henderson, Victoria Sims, Lillie Hogue, London Phillippo, Ayla White 

Duet – Avery Lane Green, Caden Fales, Mary Atchison, Lily Abbott, London Phillipo, Slade Turbyfield 

Group Musical – Ava Fales, Avery Lane Green, Bailee Henderson, Cadan Fales, Graham Waldrop, Lily Abbott, London Phillippo, Mary Atchison, Rees Sheffield, Slade Turbyfield
