Mrs. Stricklin was born on July 26, 1935, to Elbert and Aldora Estes in Dekalb County, Alabama. She passed away on Sep. 5, 2023, in Cullman, Alabama.

Mrs. Stricklin was a member of Ryans Creek Baptist Church where she was always involved in activities and deeply felt the need to lend a helping hand to those in need. Even outside of the church, Edna always kept busy with the things she adored most; a couple of those which included sewing and of course, cooking.

Those that knew her well enough also knew how big of an Alabama Football fan she was. If it weren’t football season you would still catch her watching several other sports on T.V. Above all, Edna put God and her loving family first. Just one of the many things she enjoyed doing as a family was to play all sorts of board games.

She was a very hard worker and enjoyed her vacation time. She, and her husband Jim, would spend quality time traveling with friends; However, some would say she enjoyed planning the trips just as much. Flower gardens were also one of her specialties. Many peaceful hours in the sunshine were spent planting seeds and watching them turn into beautiful flowers. Mrs. Stricklin left a wonderful legacy for those she left behind and will be sorely missed.

Survivors include her husband of almost 68 years, Jim Stricklin; her children, Jeff (Rhonda) Stricklin, Vic (Dennise) Stricklin, and Lea (Michael) Scott; grandchildren, Lauren (Craig) Lawson, Andrew (Rachel) Stricklin, Brooke (Andrew) Walworth, Anna Kathryn (Matt) Garmon, Wesley (Ellie) Stricklin, and Evan (Madison) Scott; 12 great-grandchildren; nephews, Robert (Deb) Williams and Kirk (Martha) Stricklin; and niece, Annette Mashburn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Flora.

Mrs. Stricklin’s grandsons will have the honor of serving as her pallbearers.
