Funeral service for James Douglas Smith, 77, of Cullman, will be at 3 p.m., Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. prior to the service. Rev. Steve Rodgers will officiate.
Cullman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Smith passed away Friday, July 7, 2023 at his residence. He was born Oct. 9, 1945 to Rosco and Bannie Lee Hornsby Smith. He was a truck driver for American Protein for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lessie McClendon, Willodean Smith, Velmer Todd, Thelma Todd, Elizabeth Burns; brothers, Benjamin Smith, Edward Smith; son, James Lamar Smith; daughter, Lucinda Brown.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Angie Smith; step-daughter, Angela (Tracy) Hulsey; step-son, Kevin Everett; brother, J.D. (Sue) Smith; sister, Vonda “Nellie” McGriff; grandchildren, Kayla Clowers (Patrick), Zach Hancock (Kelsey), Robyn Roberts (Justin), Cody Smith, Daquari Bishop (Danny), Josh Smith (Katie), Jessica Rutherford (Scott); family and friends.
