PREP SOCCER: Several local standouts earn All-State honors

CULLMAN, Ala. – Alabama’s high school soccer coaches have voted on this year’s All-State selections and the teams were announced this week. Several local players earned All-State honors and Cullman standout Abby Morrow led the way, landing on this year’s Super All-State (1A-7A) First Team. Morrow also earned a spot on the 6A All-State First Team along with fellow Bearcat Mimi Lunsford. Anna Beth Mauldin and Elley Atchinson each earned a 6A Honorable Mention as well after outstanding seasons. On the 6A boys’ side, Cullman’s Ramses Martinez, Zinedin Viviesca and Wyatt Harris were all voted onto the All-State Second Team.

In Class 5A, West Point’s Josh Shannon and Omar Segundo were both named to the All-State First Team and Joel Guzman earned a place on the Second Team. Fairview’s Theo Odoux was also recognized after a stellar season with the Aggies, earning a 5A Honorable Mention.

In Class 1A-3A, St. Bernard had several representatives on this year’s All-State teams. Emmanuel Santiago, Jiovany Aguilar-Arriaga, Cole Bissot and Pelayo Gallego all landed on the 1A-3A All-State Second Team and Reid Bissot and Charles Gil each earned a 1A-3A Honorable Mention.
