South Vinemont council talks 4th of July

SOUTH VINEMONT, Ala. – The South Vinemont Town Council on Tuesday discussed the town’s Fourth of July event.

During its work session, the council mulled a request to increase the budget for the event from $1,500 to $4,000, which was later approved in the meeting. It also discussed having the event at the Vinemont Sports Complex for safety and parking ease. Allowing different types of vendors was also mentioned. The latter two items were discussed, but no actions were taken.

A senior citizen exercise program will be held on Monday, April 17, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Vinemont Community Center. Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry will be in attendance.

The following items were approved:

  • Adoption of Fair Housing proclamation
  • Request for increase of budget for Fourth of July event
  • Request to allow Town Clerk Kayecea Sasser and Madison Stewart to attend the AAMCA Summer Conference
  • Request to add Madison Stewart to the agenda
  • Approve Madison Stewart as assistant clerk
