HANCEVILLE, Ala. — Wallace State Community College is partnering with Fairview High School to provide free haircuts to students. Students in Wallace State’s Salon and Spa Management program will travel to the Fairview campus twice a month to offer free hair services to any student who wants to participate. The program, referred to as Shaggie Aggie, will take place the first and third Thursday of the month.

“This gives our students an opportunity to come out and give back, work on their communications skills, cutting and styling skills, and be able to hang out with some awesome students,” said Sabrina Flanigan, department chair for Wallace State’s Salon and Spa Management program. “Our students were super excited when we were approached with the opportunity to come to Fairview High School. We brought eight students with us today to and we have almost 70 students in our program.”

Fairview High School Principal Chris Gambrill said, “We’re very fortunate to have Wallace State in our community. It’s a great partnership and we’re so thankful Wallace State is doing this; I know our students are thankful. I think this program will continue to grow.”

The partnership kicked off on Thursday, Feb. 2, with eight Salon and Spa Management students and more than 50 Fairview High School students participating.
