CROSSVILLE, Ala. – After suffering their first loss of the season to Fort Payne last week, the Arabian Knights looked to bounce back on the road against Crossville Friday night. The Knights took care of business, pummeling the Lions 48-7 to get back in the win column.

The first score of the night came when Knights quarterback Drew Puccio connected with Spencer Strickland for a 22-yard touchdown pass. Aiden Wooten’s extra point put Arab on top 7-0 midway through the first quarter. Logan Silva recovered a Crossville fumble on the ensuing possession and just a few plays later, Drake Franklin ran one into the end zone from 3 yards out to make it a 14-0 game early in the second.

Puccio continued to find open receivers down the field, hitting Brody McCain for touchdowns of 26 and 46 yards in the second quarter to stretch the lead to 28-0 with four minutes to play in the opening half. The Knights found the end zone one more time before the break when Franklin got loose for a 51-yard touchdown run, giving Arab a 35-0 advantage at halftime.

The Knights continued to pull away when the third quarter started. Puccio found Strickland through the air again and he took it 91 yards all the way to the end zone to extend the lead to 41-0 with 11 minutes on the clock in the third. Arab began to get some younger players into the game on the following possession and big runs by Logan Alldredge kept the chains moving for most of the third quarter, but Arab’s drive was stopped short on fourth down inside the Crossville 5-yard line.

The Lions put together a methodical drive and made their way down to the other end of the field, capping off the possession with a scoring run to trim the lead to 41-7 midway through the fourth quarter. Alldredge continued to churn out big gains on the ground and he punched one more touchdown into the end zone from a yard out with two minutes on the clock to make it a 48-7 game. Crossville wasn’t able to get any more points on the board in the final two minutes and the Arabian Knights returned home with a 48-7 win.

The Knights improve to 6-1 with the win and they’ll be back on the road next week to take on Boaz.
