CULLMAN, Ala. – United Way of Cullman County’s (UWCC) annual Day of Caring will take place Monday, Sept. 12. Day of Caring is an opportunity to participate in volunteer outreach projects to assist local nonprofit organizations.

Volunteers can choose from agency projects that impact UWCC partner agencies in which volunteers will build, repair, landscape, clean and organize office spaces; client projects that benefit the clients of each agency which involves delivering meals and supplies or building ramps for accessibility; and  in-office projects like hosting a collection drive or a casual day/ hat day for employees for a nominal fee.

Day of Caring is a great opportunity for workplace volunteerism, service learning and giving back to your community.

“Day of Caring is always our biggest service and outreach project every year in the community. We connect volunteers from local businesses, organizations and just individuals in the community who want to make a difference,” said UWCC Executive Director Waid Harbison. “Day of Caring is a national day around 9-11 each year, as a way to give back to local communities in remembrance of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. We will be hosting over a dozen local projects for various nonprofit organizations and community groups this year. Anyone who is still interested can sign up yourself or for your small group, business or organization to come volunteer to be a part of giving back!”
