CCSO kept busy with multiple arrests over past week

CULLMAN COUNTY, Ala. – The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office made multiple unrelated drug related arrests over the week. 

CCSO deputies observed suspicious vehicles at a closed business in the Valley Grove Community around 11:00 p.m. on Friday, June 17. John Matthew Tworkowsky, 51, of Hayden, was identified as one of the drivers. He had multiple warrants with the Cullman Police Department and was arrested for the warrants. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded narcotics and paraphernalia.   

Tworkowsky was charged with dangerous drugs/drug trafficking, possession of drug paraphernalia, FTA/possession of drug paraphernalia and FTA/multiple traffic offenses.

On Saturday, June 18, CCSO deputies conducted a traffic stop on Highway 231. Jonah Presley Swindle, 19, of Arab, was identified as the driver. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded various narcotics as well as paraphernalia. 

Swindle was arrested and charged with drug trafficking, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. 


A local man was released on Sunday, June 18. CCSO deputies received a call later that day in the Fairview area. Deputies once again located Jonah Swindle in the area and determined he was under the influence of an unknown substance. Swindle resisted and attempted to flee. He was also found to be in possession of narcotics. 

He was arrested and charged with public intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of prescription medication, resisting arrest and attempting to elude.

CCSO deputies received a call on Monday, June 20 of a suspicious vehicle in the Dodge City area. 

Britney Megan Spears, 34, of Cullman, was in the vehicle in question, after which it was determined that Spears had multiple bond revocation warrants. 

She was placed under arrest. A subsequent search of the vehicle and her person yielded narcotics and paraphernalia. 

Spears was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and five bond revocation warrants.

That same day, Cullman deputies conducted a traffic stop in the Hanceville area. 

Trey Brittian Guthery, 28, of Hanceville was identified as the driver. A search of the vehicle yielded narcotics and paraphernalia. 

Guthery was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, FTA unlawful breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, FTA possession of drug paraphernalia, FTA burglary, FTA larceny and FTA criminal mischief

Lastly, on June 20, CCSO deputies received another call of a suspicious vehicle in the Dodge City area, where Amy Marie Arwood, 40, of Cullman was in the vehicle in question. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded narcotics and paraphernalia. 

Arwood was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

“Our deputies at the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office have been extremely proactive in their work. Remaining diligent and getting these drugs off the street is a point of emphasis for the Sheriff’s Office. I am proud of the hard work and dedication all of our deputies continue to show,” said Sheriff Matt Gentry.
