Busy weekend for CCSO

CULLMAN COUNTY, Ala. – The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office managed multiple drug-related arrests over the weekend.

Thursday, June 9, Cullman County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Dustin Dakota Overton, 25, of Vinemont. He was arrested for multiple warrants at the Cullman County Detention Center. 

Overton was charged with: FTA/possession of marijuana, FTA/domestic violence, FTA /trespassing, FTA/attempting to elude and FTA/traffic violation.

Also on June 9, CCSO deputies assisted State Probation Officers with a follow up just outside of Arab inside Cullman County. Inside the residence, deputies discovered narcotics and paraphernalia. 

Kenneth Ray Mayo, 49, of Arab was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine (warrant).

The same day, CCSO deputies responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle in the Phelan area. 

Danny Ray Lee Hudson, 43, of Hanceville was located in the vehicle in question. It was determined that Hudson had an active warrant. He was placed under arrest and a subsequent search of the vehicle yielded narcotics and paraphernalia. 

Hudson was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drug paraphernalia (warrant).

Cullman County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of domestic violence in the Arkadelphia Community on Friday, June 10. Upon arrival, deputies determined that Walter Alexander Williams, 34, of Hanceville had an active warrant. He was placed under arrest and was also found to be in possession of narcotics and paraphernalia. 

He was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and a failure to appear for domestic violence.

CCSO deputies conducted a traffic stop on Friday in the Dodge City area. Marshall Speer, 55, of Parrish, AL was the driver. A subsequent search of the vehicle and his persons yielded narcotics and paraphernalia. 

He was placed under arrest and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal possession of prescription medication.

Finally, on Saturday, June 11, CCSO deputies conducted a traffic stop in the Dodge City area. Dang Saw Watson, 47, of Vinemont was the driver. A search of Watson’s vehicle yielded drug paraphernalia. 

She was arrested and transported to the Cullman County Detention Center. Once there, Watson was found to have methamphetamine concealed on her person. 

She was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and promoting prison contraband. 

“Our deputies at the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office have been extremely proactive in their work,” Sheriff Matt Gentry said. “Remaining diligent and getting these drugs off the street is a point of emphasis for the Sheriff’s Office. I am proud of the hard work and dedication they continually have.”
