CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman non-profit Curt’s Closet will be hosting its annual luncheon and silent auction fundraiser, Clothed in Cullman, on Saturday, May 7 at Loft 212.

With doors slated to open at 11:00 a.m. to allow attendees ample time to survey and bid on the auction items, the three-course lunch catered by Chat & Chew, will be served at 12:00 p.m. East Elementary School Principal David Wiggins is scheduled to entertain and emcee the event.

Curt’s Closet director and founder, Ashley Lee Wilson, excitedly shared, “We are extremely excited about this year’s event. This year is bigger and better than ever! Currently, we have over $15,000 in auction items and more are being added every day. So far, our auction items include vacation stays, a Solo Stove, rounds of golf at numerous scenic courses, VIP tickets to this summer’s Rock the South, one of a kind handmade pieces by local artists, and even auction items for your furry friends!”

There are also donated items for any sports fans. Local baseball great and current MLB Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Keegan Thompson has graciously donated signed baseballs and baseball cards. For racing fans, Barber Motorsports Park has offered a Porsche Track Experience, a unique opportunity to hone your driving skills behind the wheel of an elite Porsche sports car along Barber’s 2.38 mile, 16 turn course. The experience offers the winner an unforgettable chance to live their racing fantasies.

In addition to the silent auction, luncheon attendees will have a chance to win, in a raffle, one of five designer handbags of their choice.

Swag bags, with goodies valued at $75-$100, will be given to each ticketholder with a designer bag, wallet, or jewelry, coupons and products from many local businesses and boutiques.

Wilson shared about the importance of this year’s luncheon to Curt’s Closet and our community as a whole. “Curt’s Closet will use the money raised to continue to provide children 19 and under with clothing, shoes and accessories. That helps them with their self-worth and confidence all while showing them the Love of Christ. Curt’s Closet proudly served 1,793 children last year, plus numerous house fire victims, clients of Victims’ Services, and many other emergency situations. Funds raised will also go towards Curt’s Christmas, Curt’s Closet Christmas project. Last year we were blessed to provide 300 children throughout our county with Christmas. We could not do it without the support of this loving and gracious community.”

With tickets, available for purchase at Curt’s Closet or on Eventbrite for only $30, it’s easy to see that everyone will be a winner at this year’s Clothed in Cullman!
