Cullman man arrested for computer tampering; total of 21 counts of child pornography

CULLMAN, Ala. – On Tuesday, March 2, the Cullman County Sheiff’s Office arrested 36-year-old Cullman resident Brian Thomas Kongslien on multiple warrants, including a total of 21 counts of child pornography.

Cullman Sheriff Matt Gentry said, “Cullman County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Brian Thomas Kongslien (36) of Cullman on multiple warrants. He was arrested at the Cullman County Detention Center. The charges stem from a collaborative investigation between Cullman County Sheriff’s Office Investigators and ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children).”

Gentry stated the work between investigators helped lead to the arrest of Kongslien.

“Our Investigators do an outstanding job working with various agencies in order to get the job done. This arrest is a great example. Through our joint efforts, this individual was arrested for 21 sex offense charges,” said Gentry. 

Kongslien was charged with: 

– tampering with physical evidence  

– criminal computer tampering     

– possession of child pornography (19 counts)

Kongslien has bonded out of the Cullman County Detention Center.
