LESTER, Ala. – The Saint Bernard Prep varsity soccer teams opened their season Friday evening at West Limestone High School in Lester, with the Lady Saints collecting a shutout victory on three goals by Madi Kerber.

“Our girls played very well,” said Coach Will Drake. “The team felt good after the early goal from Madi Kerber. Defending a lead is in this team’s DNA, and we were prepared to, but it makes us more comfortable to watch Madi put in two more. Her work ethic is excellent, dropping back to help the team, and her runs open up the opponent. Of course, her hat trick speaks for itself.”

The varsity boys fell behind early but came back with a goal by Jiovany Arriaga to finish with a 1-1 tie.
