CULLMAN, Ala. – Vinemont Elementary School Gym hosted The Christian Hart Memorial Cornhole Tournament Saturday, January 29. There were two divisions of Bring Your Own Partner games. The Social Division was $30 for entry and players could use provided house bags. The Competitive Division was $40 for entry and players were required to bring their own bags. These were followed by an airmail shot and a $10 blind draw partner tournament.

- 3rd Nathan Sharp and Chasity Martin
- Competitive Division:
- 1st Jed Thomas and Brent Dutton
- 2nd Paul Pearman and Russ Manns
- 3rd Daniel Tolton and Kenny Hogan
- Blind Draw:
- 1st Kage Williams and Brant Rowell
- 2nd Robert Haddix and Toby Parker
The event was created in memory of Christian Hart who passed away in 2019. The tournament is a way to raise money for the Christian Hart Memorial Scholarship fund. Lynn Shaddix, organizer of the event, said the reason he chose to do a cornhole tournament was because, “It was just an experimental thing to see if we could raise some good money. I like cornhole and he [Christian] did, and we played it some. It was just something we wanted to try and see how it went over.”
The tournament raised $3300. Several competitive payers donated bags that were raffled off. Jeremy Crowe donated a set of Vinemont Cornhole boards that brought in around $500. Randy Earnest from Chick-Fil-A donated 125 chicken sandwiches. All proceeds went to the scholarship fund. Stephen Robinson and the High School football players donated the drinks. The raffle prizes were donated by Ariagen, Stevens Trading Co., Monograms Plus, Karmas, Trea McRea, Phillip Bridges and Freedom Marina, Gloria Winton Accounting and Farmers Poultry.
