GOOD HOPE, Ala. – Patrick “Katdaddy” Watson is giving the Cullman community an exciting opportunity to invest in his business The Stash House, a restaurant, distillery, brewery and music venue located in Good Hope. Watson also owns Kat Daddy’s BBQ in Brushy Pond. The Stash House opened in July 2021 and is the first federally licensed distillery in Cullman since 1865.
The Stash House is allowing interested parties to invest through Wefunder, the largest portal for crowdsourced investing. The website is a way in which to invest in startup companies that you want to see succeed with the possibility of earning a profit in return. Wefunder allows investors to invest as little as $100.
Watson says he wants to invite the community to be a part of his business. The investment opportunity has not yet gone live on Wefunder. Watson is currently testing the waters and allowing people to show their interest. Any indication of interest invokes no obligation or commitment of any kind. The website will send a reminder to the investor’s email address of the date the investment opportunity goes live. Then the interested party can choose to invest.
Watson says, “The local folks get a shot at it first, because when it goes live, it’s open to the masses.” The business goes live on the website on January 25.
Watson has six acres of land at the Stash House. He said, “I’m trying to make sure that I preserve the cotton gin and the six acres by putting something there that’s sustainable for us and for tourism because I’m 0.5 miles off the interstate. I’ve made several connections through Alabama with existing distilleries and breweries to help me with my quest, so they’ll be assisting me with a lot of my small batch as I continue to grow and get set up.”
He concluded, “I’m real excited to bring something else that’s new to Cullman. There’s so many businesses in Cullman, and I’ve never heard of a chance for somebody else to invest in them through a platform.”
