HANCEVILLE, Ala. – The second largest employer in Hanceville, materials manufacturer Louisiana Pacific, opened a new employee-only health care clinic on Oct. 26. This facility allows employees exclusive access to healthcare for themselves and their families.

The clinic was made possible through a partnership with CareHere, an on-site health care industry pioneer that is part of the leading direct health care company Premise Health. Employees who carry LP insurance receive health care and medication for little to no cost. All employees are welcome to use the clinic, though there will be a price difference on services provided depending on whether the employee has LP insurance. There is not a specific term of employment an employee must have to use the clinic. The clinic can be used immediately after hire.

A full-time nurse will be on staff who can connect with a doctor through video conferencing at any time. Getting appointments at the clinic is easy, with no wait times.

Hanceville plant manager Lloyd Cudnohufsky said it was too early to tell whether the facility has helped to attract more employees. LP has four other clinics opened at other locations, with one in Thomasville, Alabama in 2020.

Cudnohufsky said, “It is definitely a real advantage to our employees, and we hope we’ll see more people interested in joining our team here at LP.”

Louisiana Pacific is currently offering a $500 sign-on bonus and a $2,000 retention rate after the first six months employed.
