CULLMAN, Ala. – A Cullman man was arrested by both the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office and Cullman Police Department following a traffic violation that led to the discovery of drug possession and active warrants.

Trey B. Guthery, 27, of Hanceville was arrested on Tuesday, September 14.

According to the CCSO, Guthery was stopped for a traffic violation and then detained for multiple warrants.

During the traffic stop, he was then found to be in possession of prescription meds without a prescription.

According to CPD Public Relations Officer Adam Clark, Guthery had warrants for theft of property, criminal mischief and violation of the Statewide Health Order via the CCDC.

“During the first lockdown–only essential workers were supposed to be out and about — and during that time, he was out committing thefts at several places,” Clark said. “Along with charges of criminal mischief, he was arrested for violating the health order. He was also the suspect of five theft crimes from the beginning of 2020.”
