Two-vehicle wreck claims lives of two Cullman men

CULLMAN, Ala. – A two-vehicle wreck that happened on Highway-278 East at 5:35 a.m. on Friday killed two local men. 

Bruce Bentley, 55, of Cullman and Patrick Mize, 24, of Cullman were the drivers of a Ford Galaxy and Ford Fiesta, respectively. They were both pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Cullman County Coroner Jeremy Kilpatrick. 

The wreck occurred near County Road 1466 and Highway 278-East near East Point Animal Hospital. 

Neither driver had a passenger with them. 

The Cullman police traffic homicide unit responded, and the wreck is currently under investigation. 

The unit’s members include Sergeant Joey Duncan, and officers Jonathan England and Hunter Potts.
